Laos

Laos is one of the best countries I have ever been to. The landscapes are beautiful and the people are very kind. The food is really tasty and overall, there is a peaceful atmosphere or vibe in the country.

Vientiane is Laos' capital. Contrary to most other capitals in the world it's silent and peaceful. Cars don't honk - even at 5 pm during rush hour and traffic. On the contrary: they will stop for you to cross the street (like in Germany). In Vientiane, you can visit many temples. I visited Wat Ong Teu, Wat Mixai, Wat Si Saket, and Wat Simuang (this was my favorite one). You can also see the Patuxai and the That Dam Stupa. For the sunset, I recommend you go to the Mekong and sit there and enjoy the view.

Vang Vien is a beautiful natural place located 2-3 hours from Vientiane by bus or minivan. It’s the main spot for backpackers in Laos. The landscapes are amazing! It’s a great place to relax or to do some trekking. You can also do a lot of sports activities, like paragliding, ziplining, etc. I enjoyed the Tham Chang caves and the sunset very much!
