Chut Thai (ชุดไทย) is the official traditional dress from Thailand. Contrary to traditional dresses from most other countries Chut Thai is not very old. It was established in the 20th century after Queen Sirikit made it popular. It can be worn by women and men and consists of two parts. A long skirt and a fabric that is wrapped around your upper body covering one shoulder. It can be made with different materials and patterns - some of them simple, some of them more sophisticated. People don't wear Chut Thai in daily life, it is reserved for special occasions such as graduations or weddings.
